I’ve been wanting to add some sort of podcast element to Tech & Nonsense for quite a while now. Yaro from Yaro on AI and Tech Trends, one of my favorite and recommended Substack publications - was kind enough to try this out a little with me a few months back. Over the last few weeks I’ve been talking about this with an old friend and former work colleague, Tony Nelson - and yesterday Tony and I had our first crack at doing a podcast.

A few things to know about this Version 0.1 Alpha episode of T&N Voices:

  • There was pretty much zero production and editing efforts on this; no script, just a main topic and a bit of a mini rant and riff on the theme and hit the Record button.

  • It is roughly four times longer that we plan to do these episodes generally, We’re aiming for 15-20 minute length, and this first one is about 55 minutes. Sorry about that, we’ll get better and shorter very soon.

  • The main topic is in the post title - my skepticism about the idea that the GenAI in general or the GenAI apps/tools space is in need of rescuing, and about how capable Apple’s highly touted Apple Intelligence would be of doing that rescuing if it was needed.

Fun side point here - the image above mirrors the new logo for Tech & Nonsense - my goal with that was simple: cooler looking dog.

Anyway, I hope some of you may take some minutes to have a look/listen to this first cut at a T&N Voices podcast, and if you do please let me know what you think of it in the comments.

AI Alongside
AI Alongside offers field notes on AI collaboration efforts. Each episode will blend real-world experiences, practical insights, and thoughts on some of the latest new GenAI tools, features, and abilities that grab my attention and my guests/colleagues’ attention in the ever changing AI landscape.
