I have a Gemini Advanced account with Google, so I got an email the other evening prompting me (in the classic sense of prompting, not the new GenAI sense) to “Go Live with Gemini”, and I’ve been trying it out a bit over the weekend.
I have been having so many issues with Gemini that I’m losing hope on the model entirely. Lots of wrong answers, hallucinations are too frequent, not sure if their guardrails are killing the model entirely.
Oh man. I'm pretty much in the same boat. When I compare it to ChatGPT 4o, Claude 3.5 Sonnet or Opus, all the models available in Poe etc - it's hard not to think of it as being the least useful.
I am holding out hope based on Google's deep history in AI foundational models, my (mostly) very good experience with their Pixel phones, and this being a very alpha version of Gemini Live.
Once they're both up and running, I'll be fascinated to see if Gemini Live can stand up well against ChatGPT Advanced Voice Mode.
