Brave Summarizer Looks Good On Mobile Too
I wrote a post a couple weeks ago about the new ai-powered Summarizer in search on the Brave browser. I’ve continued to be impressed with it, and like that it requires zero effort or even clicks. It just does its thing when I search for things.
This morning I was searching for something random on my Pixel phone and the Summarizer gave a very nice, short overview of the topic I searched for. It’s the first time I really noticed the Summarizer on my phone - so I thought I’d give it more of a challenge, more of an interesting search topic. The screencap above shows that it did a great job.
Here’s how Brave describes this ligth-touch but very cool new feature:
The Summarizer provides concise and to-the-point answers at the top of Brave Search results pages, in response to the user’s input, solely based on Web search results. Unlike a purely generative AI model, which is prone to spout unsubstantiated assertions, we trained our large language models (LLMs) to process multiple sources of information present on the Web. This produces a more concise, accurate answer, expressed in coherent language.
