AI In - the Brave Search Summarizer
New this week - "the latest AI-powered feature in Brave Search: the Summarizer."
This week there’s a new “make web search better” option, courtesy of the Brave browser and its new Brave Search Summarizer. It was just announced on March 2 and I’ve been exploring it a little this morning. So far, I think it feels light, clean, and useful .
As you can see in the screenshot above, it does not take up a lot of space in search results - so you can make use of it or scroll right past it. Compared to having to scroll a good ways just to get past ads and sponsored content in Google search results, just the Brave Summarizer’s light touch feels very nice to work with. I also like the clean presentation and links to the sources within the summary text (the 0,1,2 circles) and in button format below the summary.
With some searches, the summarizer does not even take up a chunk of space in the search results; instead it highlights (presumably what it considers the most relevant) sections of text within the results, like so:
I’ve been using the chromium based Brave browser on my Mac desktop and my phone for quite a while now. It offers built-in, strong privacy protection and ad blocking features, and does not appear to be the resource hog that Chrome itself can often be when I have numerous tabs open. First impressions of the new search summarizer have me thinking this will be another big reason to like it.
You can check out all the details on the Brave Search Summarizer on Brave’s introduction page for it.
