Great blog! Thanks for mentioning Perplexity AI - I stumbled across this last week. Do you think the answers you get from the gpt-4 engine is the same as the native gpt-4 site? If so, seems like super-good value as well! I really like Claude for coding/syntax, but haven't gone for a subscription just yet.
That's a great question. I have paid accounts with Perplexity and OpenAI, so I tried this out just a little right now. I switched the model in Perplexity to GPT4 and asked Perplexity and also ChatGPT with GPT4 "what are the best 3-5 core elements of the Zero Trust model" - they came back with four out of five the same - the only difference being that ChatGPT had MFA where Perplexity had detailed policy application. I think we could make a case for both being good responses. Then I asked for 5 best tips on using Wireshark. On that one Perplexity listed good sources, had a solid answer - but I thought the ChatGPT response was a little stronger, gave more detailed examples.
So, not conclusive I guess. This is why I still like having both of these pinned on my phone's home screen and these two plus Bard and Pi pinned in my desktop browser.
