850,000 acres, over 1,300 square miles. and around 3% contained. Those are some of the stark numbers to accompany the hellscape images of the wildfires still burning in the Texas Panhandle today.
I know plenty of other areas in the US and around the world have experienced extreme weather events in the recent past, maybe are experiencing some right now. This one just has my thoughts fully occupied today as it’s in my home state.
So, prayers for all the people impacted and for all the emergency teams responding.
