Not exactly shocking news here - photos taken with the Pixel 8 Pro are coming out great. Said better, they are turning out as well as they can given that I am a legitimately terrible taker of photos. I could have the best smartphone camera (which it seems like the Pixel phones are in the discussion for), or the best DSLR, or the best movie filming camera, and still churn out lousy photos.
Rather than thinking about what a waste it is to have such a great camera in such inept hands, I’m going to focus on how it can somehow still make my pictures presentable. Or at least they look presentable to my opposite of an expert’s eye. I’ve even felt good about a few I’ve taken over the last few weeks - mostly of my dog.
I’ve had the Pixel 8 Pro for almost a month now, so I’ll share some thoughts on my experience with it soon. This is all I’ve got for tonight; it’s been a long work week and it feels crazy that it’s still only Wednesday.
Well, I can definitely understand about having limited skills with the camera. I look at friends photos and cringe looking at mine. Just not a skillset that I ever managed. I don't exactly why except maybe that I figure I've done my duty as Mom,-family- picture-taker over the years and kinda gave it up as the kids got older.
I'm like you Patrick, in that all I seem to take photos of now is the dogs. But not too old for old dogs to.. etc etc.
Great photo you took btw!
Beautiful shot, Patrick!
